1. Upper Shamokin Falls – this hike is a short hike down to meet the trail and a little bit further to get you to the waterfall.
2. Paul’s Creek Trail – this one is a moderate hike, probably better for elementary aged kids and above.
3. Ravens Roost Park - This is a short walk (0.1 miles) but the payoff is the spectacular view. The panoramic vista is perfect on a clear day to see the whole Shenandoah Valley. Access the short trail via Valley View Lane or drive close to the platform at the end of Ravens Roost Lane.)
4. Rockfish Valley Nature Foundation Children’s Nature walk – located just behind the Nature Center on Route 151, this is more of a walk than a hike but with a lovely playground and nature exhibits along the trail, it makes for a perfect day with the kids.
5. Stoney Creek Park- stroll along the stream, break out your picnic and enjoy the shade. This is an easy 0.9 mile hike and perfect for even the youngest members of your family. Although there is not a playground here, the wide trails and easy to explore streams make this shady spot a perfect one in the summer months.
